Preparing for a Professional Floor Cleaner

Remove Furniture

Remove any obstructive furniture in the area we’re coming to clean. It’s your responsibility to prepare for any professional tile cleaning service prior to arrival. This includes any bulky items such as fridges and kitchen tables if you want to have the kitchen floors cleaned.  The more you can clear the area we’re about to clean the better the results will be.

Quick tidy and clean

Remove any items, including those that can be knocked or bumped. We always treat your home as if it were our own but we don’t want to risk accidentally bumping your favourite Georg Jensen vase!

It’s also a good idea to give the area a quick vacuum to remove the loose dirt, dust and hair.

Protecting surrounding surfaces

As some of the equipment used may require extension cords or hoses to clean your tile and grout, we recommend protecting surrounding walls and skirting boards. This will avoid any unintentional friction from cords. You can purchase painter’s tape from your local hardware store or Bunnings

Our qualified experts take the utmost care when completing any job. If your job requires solvent

Children and Pets

We’re definitely animal lovers here at Tile Cleaning Experts. However, your pet may not be such a fan. The necessary equipment used to make your floors look brand new can be quite loud for pets. We ask they are kept in a safe area where they can’t escape, as often we’ll repeatedly need to open and close doors while we’re working or to go outside to get more materials or equipment.

We also ask that children don’t play with the professional equipment or materials we may be using for your floors or tiles.

We’re a family run business, with over 30 years’ combined experience. We pride ourself on respect, honesty and we treat all homes as if they were our own – taking care, achieving the best results possible and a friendly service. Testimonials on a website can be chosen at the company’s liking, so we invite you to check out our Facebook reviews, which can’t be altered or deleted.

Basic Do’s and Don’ts for Natural Stone Floor Care

Natural stone flooring is an elegant, easy to maintain option that will stand the test of time if cared for correctly. Natural stone is versatile enough to achieve the aesthetic, performance, and cost goals on both the exterior and interior of your home over the long term. Here are some basic care and cleaning do’s and don’ts to help you maintain your natural stone flooring:

Do
Use non-slip mats or rugs in high traffic areas and entry ways
Regularly dust, vacuum and mop to clean and slow the wear caused by dirt build up
Clean spills immediately so they don’t become stains, which can be absorbed into the porous material
Hire a professional tile and grout cleaner, in addition to your day-to-day cleaning to ensure that the floor is properly cleaned and sealed to prevent deterioration, stains, make regular cleaning easier and provide healthy surfaces for the home or workplace
Regularly strip and seal your floor instead of coating older sealer with a fresh coat. We recommend using a professional to ensure floors aren’t damaged, you achieve a higher and more even shine and the desired finish is achieved.

Don’t
Hire any professional. A lot of ‘experts’ have a six week course behind them and no further training. You don’t want to risk damaging and replacing your floors!
Use strong chemicals on soft natural stone. This can no only damage your stone but deteriorate the protecting sealant
Use a damaged vacuum or mop bucket. If it’s missing wheels or the head is worn you will scratch the floor surface which will then require you to strip, buff and seal
Drag furniture. This includes chairs, tables and heavier items. You can get covers for their legs to protect your flooring
All floors have their own unique properties and it’s important that you clean, maintain and follow proper care to ensure their beauty and longevity. Whether your natural stone is inside or outside you will occasionally need an expert to help bring them back to life. Tile Cleaning Experts have over 30 years’ experience and backgrounds in nano chemistry.
